The digital display become mouldy (looks like there were mould). However, when I tear it down to parts, I found both the front and back of the display tab appeared to have been contaminated by unknown liquid. I noted that when I open the battery case, the batteries were leaking but the batteries were in a lower position compared to the display tab. I tried to wipe both the front and the back of the display tab but nothing changed.
